Few insurance companies can match the rich history of The Cigna Group, which has been around for more than 230 years. We can trace the company's beginnings to 1792, when it was created by a few citizens in Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, birthplace of the U.S. Marine Corps. 

We were originally known as the Insurance Company of North America (INA). And our first act of service was to insure a ship’s captain and cargo against pirates on a voyage from Philadelphia to Northern Ireland.

Salute Enterprise Resource Group
Join our employee-led Salute Enterprise Resource Group (ERG) and:

  • Participate in community service events
  • Be part of ambassador teams in local communities, partnering with military installations, colleagues, and programs to translate and match the job skills of veterans and military spouses with open roles
  • Help us recruit additional veterans to join #TeamCignaGroup, #TeamCigna or #TeamEvernorth

At left: For the "Pillowcase Project," Salute ERG members hand-designed colorful pillowcases which were included in care packages distributed to troops, veterans, military families, recruit graduates and first responders. The volunteer activity supported the nonprofit Operation Gratitude. Enterprise Resource Group membership is open to all employees, and we encourage everyone's participation.

Our Nationwide Veteran Support Line
The Veteran Support Line is free for veterans and their families. It provides information on services and resources for:
