Do you ever wonder how some CEOs got their start? We’ll let you in on a little secret. Our CEO started out in our very own Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) and so can you.

The FLDP is designed to develop high-potential MBAs and CPAs into future finance and business leaders. This program provides you with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to take on critial leadership roles across the organziation.

Through the FLDP, you'll be empowered to lead projects, manage teams, and make a measureable impact. With each rotation, you'll deepen your expertise in corporate finance while contributing to our mission of improving the health and vitality of those we serve.

There's no limit to how far you can grow as a leader in the FLDP.

 Dates:

For experienced hires, applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

If you're a second-year MBA student, applications open up annually in late summer.

 Timeframe:

Full-time:
5-7 years depending on the complexity and length of the 3-4 rotations you choose.

Rotations are typically 18-24 months across individual contributor and manager roles.

Internship:
10 weeks

Who We Hire:

Candidates who have completed their MBA or CPA with 3+ years of experience.

As a member of the FLDP, you are free to chart your own path to acquire the skills and competencies you need to become a leader in the organization.

Rotation 1 - Underwriting
​​​​​​​U.S. Commercial


In this rotation, you'll have a direct impact on the business by managing an assigned book of business within a designated market. This includes performing case-specific assessments, understanding profitability, and developing strategic recommendations related to market competition and product development.

Rotation 2 - Finacial Planning & Analysis


In this rotation, you’ll manage reporting, projection, and analysis for a book of business. This includes identifying risks and opportunities by developing a comprehensive package for annual plan and re-projection processes, partnering cross-functionally to analyze and report financial results, and delivering on process improvements to drive efficiencies.

Rotation 3 - Market Business Finance Officer


As a Market Business Finance Officer, you'll oversee the financial and membership reporting for a group of markets. This includes establishing, maintaining, and monitoring the expenses associated within your markets, as well as driving strategic adjustments to continually grow the business. 

Rotation 4 - Financial Strategy Evernorth Care Delivery


In this rotation, you’ll play a key role in driving financial and strategic initiatives across the growth platforms. This includes developing strategic frameworks, customer and competitor insights, and business cases to drive analysis and decision support for the big questions across the enterprise.

Still in the first year of your MBA? Check out our summer internship.

During our 10-week summer internship program, participants are exposed to all aspects of The Cigna Group's finance department as they work on projects crucial to our growth and success. As an intern, you could manage a project that ranges from creating an M&A Valuation model to developing a financial strategy or robotic process automation.

While applications typically open in early fall, make sure to check with your school's career center for specific application deadlines and potential on-campus interview dates.  If we don’t have any events at your school, make sure to apply online by January. 

Please note our internship roles are typically based out of our Headquarters in Bloomfield, CT.
