Meta

Internship:

Designed for current MBA candidates in their first year of school, the FLDP internship offers a hands-on introduction to finance leadership within a global healthcare organization. Interns work on high-impact projects, partner with experienced leaders, and gain exposure to core business areas. The experience builds practical skills, expands professional networks, and creates a strong foundation for accelerated entry into full-time leadership roles.
Meta

Full-time:

The full-time FLDP is built for MBA graduates and experienced CPAs ready to accelerate into leadership roles. Participants complete structured rotations across key finance functions, gaining broad exposure while taking on meaningful ownership from day one. The program develops strategic thinking, leadership capability, and the experience needed to quickly progress into senior finance positions.

The FLDP consists of three to four rotations at 18 to 24 months in duration.

The FLDP recruits graduate-level candidates who are pursuing their MBA; CPA's may also be considered. Ideal candidates are energized by using financial analysis to inform complex business decisions, have a sustained interest in the healthcare industry, and are driven to build a long-term career trajectory that creates meaningful impact on affordability, access, quality, and outcomes for those we serve.

Cherice started with The Cigna Group in 2013 on our Risk & Underwriting team. As an associate of our FLDP, she's had the opportunity to make a meaningful impact throughout various rotations within the organization.

Rotation 1:
Group Life & Disability Risk Management & Underwriting

Job title
Cherice managed a $25M portfolio and conducted risk analysis on renewal and new business opportunities. She also built and delivered training curriculum for new hires, expanding team capability.

Rotation 2: Global Health Benefits Finance

Job title
She developed a SOX‑compliant audit framework and led cross‑functional reporting across underwriting, actuarial, finance, and account management teams. Cherice strengthened governance and financial transparency.

Rotation 3: Medicare Advantage FP&A

Job title
Cherice managed and developed two financial analysts while supporting financial planning for a $1.4B market. She redesigned forecasting models and led process improvements to increase transparency and reduce manual work.

Rotation 4: U.S. Employer Risk Management & Underwriting

Job title
During this rotation, Cherice built automated analytics to identify top and bottom performing cases, reducing a multi‑day process to one hour. She worked to develop SQL reporting to evaluate predictive model accuracy and improve underwriting insights.
