Not quite ready for full-time? Check out our OLDP summer internship.
During our 10-week summer internship, interns are exposed to all aspects of The Cigna Group's business operations as they manage a project aligned to our priorities and growth strategy. Projects could include anything from data analysis and process improvement to design thinking and UAT Testing.
Our goal is to give interns a realistic experience of what it’s like to work in operations by becoming part of a team and being responsible for their project’s results. Interns who continually impress us during the summer will be invited to join the OLDP full-time when they graduate.
The summer internship takes place in our global corporate headquarters in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Interns who live more than 50 miles away will be provided housing. Recruiting for our summer internship begins annually in August and runs until November.
"My first rotation in the OLDP as a Data Enablement Lead Analyst has given me the opportunity to learn new technical skills in coding and data visualization, as well as provided me with in depth knowledge of how we handle calls in our Contact Center. Prior to starting my role, I had no experience with coding, but my manager and team continuously take the time to teach and support me throughout my learning journey. During this rotation I’ve also had the opportunity to partner with members of our finance and workforce planning departments, giving me a diverse perspective of Operations."

"My second rotation in the OLDP as a Continuous Improvement Advisor has allowed me to drive business process improvement initiatives in order to maintain a customer-centric culture of quality. I have enjoyed the opportunity to build on the skills I learned in order to obtain my Six Sigma Green Belt certification and am grateful for the collaborative environment that allows me to work with a variety of business partners."

"My time in the OLDP has enabled me to develop complex problem-solving skills early in my career across multiple teams and business units. In my third rotation as a Category Management Advisor in the Strategic Sourcing organization, I am responsible for managing and executing print and distribution contracts with external vendors. "Being in the OLDP has allowed me to expand on my creative problem-solving skills as I lead project teams through process innovation and improvement. The opportunity to design and pilot a new process with our global vendors has permitted me to step into my informal leadership skills and directly impact the customer experience by promoting timely and accurate payment of their medical claims."
