“The OLDP is my family. When I applied for a role after graduating, I was thrilled at the opportunity to connect with this amazing group of people. Coming from a non-profit background that prioritized family and connectivity, the OLDP offered a similar environment. The program offered me an opportunity to co-lead a technology implementation aimed at enhancing operational excellence and improving client satisfaction. This experience allowed me to gain insight into the intricacies of each role within the department and observe how we serve our clients from start to finish. Our team provided valuable insights to managers, contributing to a culture driven by data and meaningful influence.”

Not quite ready for full time? Check out our OLDP summer internship

During this 10-week program, interns dive into The Cigna Group’s business operations by leading a project aligned with our strategic priorities. Projects may involve data analysis, process improvement, design thinking, or UAT testing — offering a realistic view of what it’s like to work in operations.

Interns become part of a team, take ownership of their work, and receive mentorship throughout the experience. Those who stand out may receive full-time offers to join the Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) after graduation.

The internship takes place at our global headquarters in Bloomfield, Connecticut, with housing provided for interns living more than 50 miles away. Recruitment runs annually from January through March.
