At The Cigna Group, our Legal & Corporate Affairs function supports our business though several specialty areas, including Compliance, Risk Management and Privacy and Government Affairs, in addition to more traditional Legal roles. Our teams work cross-functionally to educate external stakeholders and provide internal partners the guidance they need to move our businesses forward safely, efficiently, and successfully as the company strives to improve the health and vitality of those we serve.

Key Focus Areas:

Legal

Our Legal team professionals – including in house attorneys, paralegals, project managers, and others – help guide our Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth Health Services businesses and drive results in support of the clients and customers we serve. Teams within the Legal function include Regulatory, Litigation, Operations, Employment, Benefits and Compensation Law, and Corporate Transactions and Tax Law. Experts in these areas provide business partners with proactive and reactive corporate legal services and advice.

Enterprise Compliance and Risk

This multi-faceted team is responsible for upholding The Cigna Group’s culture of integrity that the company prides itself on. Privacy team members collaborate closely with technical counterparts to protect the personal data of those we serve, and ensure our innovations are guided by prudent practices. Risk Management team members partner with the business to mitigate risk, and our Records Management team ensures we appropriately retain company information.

Government Affairs

The Government Affairs team is dedicated to being a constructive participant in conversations that shape the future of healthcare and improve the vitality of those we serve. Federal and State team members partner with business colleagues, legislators, regulators, competitors, trade organizations, thought leaders, and other stakeholders at the national and local level to influence public policy and drive political engagement strategies that are aligned to our business objectives.
